N. Ireland (Civil Engineering)

The Civil Engineering Division within Northern Ireland carry out a wide range of Civil Projects which are categorised under a number of headings below. Farrans carry out works throughout the Province and have been involved in some of the most significant infrastructure projects as can be seen from the list below. We still remain committed to being a multidiscipline civil engineering contractor which can be seen from our list of current projects. Procurement of contracts has considerably changed over the past number of years from the Traditional ICE Contracts, to contracts which are now administrated under the Engineering and Construction Contracts (ECC) with contractor design. Farrans also see Partnering with their clients as an essential requirement, whether through formal or informal arrangements. During the transition in procurement procedures Farrans took part in the “Movement for Innovation” (M4I) with 3 demonstration projects involving Rethinking Construction. For further details of these Demonstration Projects, please click on project title: Aquarius Mourne Conduit Replacement Contract, Derg Water Treatment Works & Valley Distribution Improvements.

We are also proud to announce that we are part of the successful Consortium to have been awarded the prestigious DBFO1 (M1/Westlink) Contract for DRD Roads Service. This £100m+ major infrastructure development is the first PFI/PPP road scheme in Northern Ireland. Click here for further details.
