Apprenticeship wellbeing event held at Bristol Airport

14.02.2025

Farrans and Griffiths, working jointly as GFJV, have been celebrating and supporting the wellbeing of our apprentices working on the delivery of the transformational public transport hub at Bristol Airport.

Our apprentices attended a workshop raising their awareness of mental health issues and how to support others. They also spent time in a Q&A session with Dave Lees, Bristol Airport Chief Executive sharing with him details of the work they have been involved in and how rewarding they are finding the apprentice experience on the project.

By far one of the most pressing challenges facing the construction industry at present is the major skills shortage. On this project our team has developed a programme of activity which aligns with the priorities of our client and the local community providing, amongst other areas of work, employment opportunities and opening up learning opportunities for young people.

To date we have supported 9 apprentices through the project with each one being provided with invaluable skills in various disciplines across the industry such as civil, mechanical & electrical engineering; dealing with complex designs; environmental and commercial planning.
