Cheque for £10,000 presented to NI Children’s Hospice

10.06.2025

Dominic Lavery, Managing Director of Farrans Construction, visited Somerton House this week to present a cheque for £10,000 to Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice following a charity golf day held in May.

NI Hospice provides a range of in-patient and at home care support for adults, children and babies impacted by life limiting illnesses in Northern Ireland. The organisation relies on donations and corporate fundraising to generate over 60% of the £20m running costs it needs to help over 4,000 people and families each year.

Presenting the cheque to NI Children’s Hospice, Dominic Lavery said: “I am delighted to have had the opportunity to come to Somerton House and learn more about the work of NI Children’s Hospice and NI Hospice. We have heard that this donation will have a big impact and that £10,000 can pay for 360 physio pool sessions, a full year of bereavement support for more than 10 families or five nights of a bed in the Children’s Hospice with 24 hours of around the clock care. I’d like to thank our colleagues and supply chain once again for their donations towards this excellent cause and I look forward to continuing to work with NI Hospice through other initiatives in the future.”

Jessica Steele, Corporate Relationship Manager of NI Hospice, said: “We are so grateful to Farrans for their incredibly generous donation of £10,000 to Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice. Their support will make a real difference to the children and families in our care, helping us continue to provide specialist, compassionate services when they’re needed most. Thank you to everyone involved in making this gift possible.”
