Farrans and Women’s Tec partnership arrives to St Brigid’s School

2.04.2026

As a #Notjustforboys champion with Women’s Tec we recently partnered with them and St Brigid’s School in Derry-Londonderry to deliver an insightful session and site visit.

Twelve young females who are all studying technology and design or construction took part in two days at North West Regional College where they got practical experience with important trade skills like bricklaying, plumbing, welding, mechanics, tiling and joinery.

Farrans visited the students at St Brigid’s and delivered the Construction Challenges Water Workshop last month and they then attended a site visit to our Craigavon Bridge project which we are delivering for NI Water.

The site visit provided valuable insight into a live construction environment, including the opportunity to hear from one of our apprentice engineers about her career journey so far.

The students also observed the complex work involved in installing a new trunk main for client NI Water alongside the Craigavon Bridge, gaining an understanding of the various challenges associated with delivering such a project.
