Farrans celebrates excellence at Ulster University Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management Awards

22.06.2026

We were proud to continue our long-standing partnership with Ulster University by sponsoring the award for Most Commercially Relevant Research Paper at the recent Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management Awards.

The event showcased an exceptional standard of research from students, with submissions addressing a wide range of current and significant challenges facing the construction industry. The high quality of entries made the judging process particularly competitive, reflecting the depth of talent and innovation within the programme.

Congratulations to Hannah Byrne, whose paper, “Labour Shortages as a Commercial Risk Factor: Impacts on Cost, Programme, and Quality in UK Construction Projects”, was selected as this year’s winner. The research stood out for its examination of one of the most pressing issues facing the UK construction sector and its clear relevance to commercial practice across the industry.

We would also like to congratulate our very own Graduate Aine Turner on being shortlisted for the award and final year apprentice, Caleb Robb, who was awarded the Programme Director’s Certificate in recognition of his dedication, hard work and achievements throughout the programme.

As a business committed to supporting the development of future industry professionals, we are delighted to celebrate the success of all students who participated in this year’s awards.

Congratulations to all involved on their outstanding achievements.
