Farrans continues commitment to All-Ireland Pollinator Plan

13.04.2026

Farrans has once again been awarded a Certificate of Participation in recognition of its ongoing support for the All-Ireland Pollinator Plan (AIPP), reinforcing its commitment to sustainability and biodiversity across its operations.

The All-Ireland Pollinator Plan is an island-wide initiative that brings together businesses, communities and public bodies to help reverse the decline of pollinating insects and restore vital ecosystems. With one-third of Ireland’s wild bee species currently threatened with extinction, the need for collective action has never been greater.

Farrans has played an active role in supporting this important initiative since becoming a Business Supporter in 2023. As part of its contribution, we have delivered a range of impactful actions to support pollinators and enhance biodiversity.

These include:

  • Donating more than 500 pollinator-friendly plants and trees to schools and community groups across Northern Ireland, helping to create new habitats and raise awareness
  • Introducing biodiversity gains across project sites and offices, embedding nature-positive solutions into construction activities
  • Delivering environmental volunteering, education and outreach initiatives to support communities and promote ecological awareness
  • Increasing training and internal engagement to ensure a high level of commitment to environmental protection and biodiversity across the business

In addition, Farrans has integrated AIPP principles into its wider sustainability strategy, aligning pollinator-friendly actions with its broader environmental and biodiversity goals. This compliments the company’s ambition to deliver no net loss of biodiversity and to create positive environmental outcomes across its projects.
