Farrans holds consultation morning with Northern Ireland Water workforce

💧Today we held a consultation meeting with our Northern Ireland Water workforce to engage on a number of important industry topics. 💧

These included:

🏗️The importance of managing silica dust in the workplace and control measures. We are an approved EUSR training provider, with dust in construction being one of the modules available to deliver.

☀️Hot weather working – The team spoke about the recent hot weather and the importance of the critical work that Farrans does with our client. Some practical advice was given along with some free sun protection.

🏖️Holidays – With staff taking well-earned rests during the summer we touched on the checks needed such as staff cover, third party protection checks and the reinstatement of works as appropriate.

🎤Special Guest – We heard from former professional footballer Pat McGibbon who played with Manchester United, Wigan Athletic and Northern Ireland between 1992-2002. Pat spoke openly about the work that he does for mental health and wellbeing and how this has personally impacted him, along with some really powerful measures that people can use. Pat founded the charity Train 2 B Smart Juniors which aims to promote positive mental health and wellbeing through sport.
