Farrans hosts Halloween-themed construction workshop with NI Water

This week Farrans welcomed a group of young people to one of our NI Water sites for a Construction Pumpkin Carving Workshop.

The children, who all lived locally to the project works, used construction-themed cutters to create and design their very own pumpkin. The pumpkins were then illuminated with tea lights, bringing the children’s creative designs to life in the dark.

At the end of the session, every child received a bag of pumpkin pulp to take home, along with a poster filled with ideas for reusing their pumpkin after Halloween, including recipes like pumpkin soup or curry, or even using it as a bird feeder.

Our Stakeholder and Social Value team works with our clients to ensure that we leave a positive, lasting legacy in all of the areas that we are working in. By introducing construction-based activities early we hope to have inspired some of these children to consider a career in our industry.
