Farrans makes 2024 Christmas donations
We work hard throughout the year to support local organisations, community groups, charities and social enterprises with donations of materials and containers, fundraising events and volunteering days.
Christmas is the season of giving and Farrans is proud to continue its tradition of making a number of financial donations in December to organisations which have been selected by our people through an employee survey process in 2022 – one in each of the regions we operate.
Scotland – Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS)
For thirty years CHAS has been offering a full family support service for babies, children, and young people with life-shortening conditions. This includes palliative care, family respite, and support – through hospices, homecare services, and hospital presence.
Ireland – St Vincent De Paul
Supporting people in poverty and disadvantage, The Society of St Vincent de Paul provides a wide range of services for vulnerable people through local offices, shops, resource centres, housing, daycare and holiday schemes amongst other things.
“For the people that SVP support the kindness from your heart can help give them the strength to keep going. That’s the incredible lasting power of the gift your business can give today.”
“Whether your gift puts a turkey on the table… fills up a long-empty oil tank… or puts a few little presents in a child’s otherwise empty stocking… a family will never forget your kindness.” St Vincent De Paul
Northern Ireland – Air Ambulance NI
Air Ambulance NI is a charity that works in partnership with the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service to provide the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service. The team is needed on average twice per day and can be airborne in about 5 minutes to provide intervention at scenes that can be the difference between life and death. As a local charity that relies so much on fundraising in aid of the service, your support is crucial. Each day, Air Ambulance NI needs to raise £5,500 and all contributions make a difference.
England- Cancer Research UK
The charity has been running for 20 years and specialises in funding scientists, doctors, and nurses to help beat cancer sooner. The organisation also provides cancer information to the public. Every step it makes towards tackling the impact of cancer relies on every pound donated. It also stages various national fundraising initiatives and events.
We are delighted to be able to support each of these organisations again, all of which are carrying out vital work to lift others in times of great need.
