Farrans’ team members volunteer at Wick summer town clean-up

Our team delivering Golticlay Wind Farm in Scotland for our clients RWE have taken part in Wick’s summer town clean up alongside more than 60 other volunteers.

The event took place last Wednesday evening in advance of Wick Gala Week which will be on July 25 to August 1.

Farrans, GMR Henderson, Wicks Paths Group, Wick Flowers, RBWCC, Highland Council Waste Services and members of the public joined the Royal Burgh of Wick Community Council for their annual street spruce up in the town centre.

In a message of thanks to all supporters, Allan Bruce, Chairman of the Royal Burgh of Wick Community Council, said: “The transformation in our town centre is incredible and well worth everyone’s hard work and effort.”

Golticlay Wind Farm features 11 state-of-the-art wind turbines, each 180 metres to the blade tip and individually boasting a capacity of 5.7 MW. Once operational, the wind farm will be capable of producing enough renewable electricity to power approximately 84,000 Scottish homes annually.

The site will not only generate clean, home-grown power but also deliver economic benefits at a regional level, boosting local businesses and creating jobs in the area. Farrans is responsible for managing the construction operations and is committed to working with local subcontractors to maximise RWE’s investment locally. 

Full power generation is anticipated for the end of 2026.
