Farrans’ volunteers take on local community project in Emyvale Leisure Centre
A team of fourteen volunteers from Farrans took part in a volunteering day at Emyvale Leisure Centre this week.
Farrans has an office in Monaghan town where a team of 40 people are based to look after the North West region under Uisce Éireann‘s new Water and Waste Water Multi-Supplier Framework, responsible for Donegal, Sligo, Roscommon, Galway, Cavan, Leitrim, Monaghan and Mayo.
As part of their corporate social responsibility programme the team freshly painted two rooms in the leisure centre, including the large upstairs room regularly used by youth groups.
The event was organised by Monaghan Volunteer Centre. Sinéad Keenan, Volunteer Centre co-ordinator said: “We are delighted with this corporate volunteering project. It has benefitted both the company and the local community who use the leisure centre. Any local companies that would be interested in having their team take part in a similar volunteering project are invited to contact me directly. Community and voluntary organisations in County Monaghan that have a project they would like support with as part of future corporate volunteering days should also get in touch.”
Rebecca Kincade, Head of Communications and Marketing for Farrans, said: “Our business recognises the positive impact that volunteering has for our people, providing excellent opportunities for purposeful team bonding away from the day to day work place. We are always proud to see the great results that these days deliver for the local communities that we work with. Our team in Monaghan has made these spaces bright and welcoming for everyone to enjoy and we are delighted to have worked with Monaghan Volunteer Centre and Emyvale Leisure Centre.”
Collette Deeney of the Leisure Centre committee thanked Farrans for their efforts and their company for allowing staff this opportunity.
