International Women’s Day 2026 at Farrans

We’re proud to join the global celebration of International Women’s Day on 8th March 2026, centred around this year’s inspiring theme: “Give to Gain.”

This campaign calls on individuals, organisations, and communities to embrace generosity, giving time, knowledge, resources, visibility and support because when we give, we all gain more opportunities, equity, and progress.

This year we celebrated #IWD2026 with events in our Belfast and Monaghan offices. Our colleagues came together to share inspirational advice for the next generation and we created a board in head office and some of our sites.

We hosted coffee mornings, set up a planting station and invited the charity Women’s Tec in to talk to us about how they are supporting young females into the industry. We delivered an event at Hunter House College in Belfast. Our apprentice engineer and placement student attended their Year 10 careers fair. They spoke with students about careers in construction, sharing their own journeys into the industry and explaining the different routes available, including apprenticeships and placement opportunities.

Students also received Farrans’ notebooks containing an inspirational message written by one of our people  – encouraging them to be confident, ambitious and open to the many opportunities available in engineering and construction.
