Making a positive lasting difference this Christmas

20.12.2021

We work collaboratively with our clients, community organisations, social enterprises and key stakeholders all year round to ensure we place the needs of the community at the heart of our operations. Our role is not just as a contractor. We play an important part in society, leaving lasting legacies for local communities and contributing to a more sustainable future.

Farrans has a long-standing tradition of making donations to good causes ahead of the Christmas period.

2021 has been challenging for so many people and Christmas is expected to be one of the busiest yet for food banks, good causes and community groups looking after those most in need in our local communities.

Our Christmas donations have sought to aid those who are facing homelessness, poverty and illness in the UK and Ireland.

A total of £5,000 has been given to five groups across our regions.

Farrans is proudly supporting:

The Trussell Trust – Stop UK Hunger

Simon on the Streets – Providing hope for those without a voice

Aberdeen Foyer – Supporting people in the North East of Scotland towards independent living, learning and work

Cork Penny Dinners – Currently serving up to 2000 freshly made meals per week

Cancer Fund for Children – Support for children living with cancer

Our projects continue to make donations of their own to community organisations.

Our teams in Banbridge and Botanic Link donated over 25 coats for Belfast Homeless Services. Library Street donated 10 laptops to NI Youth Forum and over £100 worth of food has been donated to Camden Foodbank by our Highgate Community Centre project team. Camden Foodbank is part of The Trussell Trust’s network of 428 foodbanks, working to tackle food poverty and hunger in our local communities, as well as across the UK.
