5th March 2019
On Wednesday 6th February, Farrans delivered 60 old scaffold planks to "Men's Shed" in Antrim.
Men’s Shed Steple is a place for men to meet and discuss issues, share skills and explore new interests, with the aim of promoting their own health and development and putting something back into the community. The men work on a variety of activities including joinery, photography, art and IT, and even have their own polytunnel where they grow a range of vegetables and plants.
The planks which were donated buy Farrans were used to replace and brace the raised beds, which were created previously with ex Farrans planks. The scheme is for men over 50, with each bed being maintained by one person and they are used to produce flowers, fruit and vegetables, with 12 beds being currently maintained.
