Farrans team provide "fantastic" career insights to university students

20th February 2020

Members of the team in Aberdeen were pleased to visit students last week at the Aberdeen University campus to talk about Careers within Farrans.

Roger Webster, Site Engineer who has worked with Farrans since graduating from Edinburgh University 2014, gave the students an insight into the various projects he has worked on since starting with the company.

Ed Davidson, who is currently on a year’s placement with us, working within the Commerical Team as a Quantity Surveyor, described his positive experience so far on his placement.

Angela Newlands, Stakeholder Engagement Co-ordinator, also gave a short presentation during the event which was well-received by the students.

“It was a great opportunity to engage with the students here in Aberdeen. Currently studying Civil Engineering, myself, I know how important it is to engage with people currently working on site to get an idea of what its like, outside the classroom environment,” Angela said.

Jill Rettie, Employer Liaison Officer from the University praised the team, saying: “It was fantastic to welcome Farrans Construction to campus to discuss career opportunities with our students.

"The insight employers can share regarding opportunities with their organisation and sector provides students with the chance to engage with their future career paths and learn from real life experience.”
