Farrans Win Arts & Business NI Cultural Responsibility Award

4th February 2019

We were delighted to recently win a Cultural Responsibility Award at the Allianz Arts & Business NI Awards.

The esteemed award recognised Farrans’ collaboration with ArtsCare NI on our Altnagelvin North Wing Redevelopment project in Derry, where we helped create the ‘Inside Outside’ Art Gallery project.

Farrans has been working closely with ArtsCare NI over the past year, based on the Altnagelvin site.

The goal of this partnership is to use art as a way to develop meaningful connections with the wider community, integrating creativity into the workplace – or the building site!

Nicola Laight, who works within Farrans’ Stakeholder Engagement team and was there to collect the award, has led this collaboration alongside Dr Jenny Elliott from ArtsCare NI.

Engaging with patients and staff from the Western Health & Social Services Board, a series of visual art and creative workshops were held during 2017, helping create a stunning hoarding display on-site.

The project also saw the involvement of representatives from dementia groups, day care clinics and mental health organisations.

Congratulations to all involved in a very worthwhile collaboration!
