We have a long history of delivering infrastructure for the Ministry of Defence and have completed an extensive portfolio of work across Royal Airforce Force bases including Lakenheath, Molesworth, Mildenhall, Alconbury, Aldergrove and Ballykinler.
At RAF Lakenheath our portfolio of completed works includes:
- A four-bay Mission Control facility
- Aircraft maintenance and jet-engine facilities
- Airside fire station
- Runway extension
- Munitions-related infrastructure
- Avionics building
- Commissary
- Hospital
- Single living accommodation
- Elementary school facilities
The Mission Training Centre includes four F-15 Strike Eagle cockpit simulators, two for pilots, and two for Weapon System Officers. The combination one Pilot and one WSO cockpit creates one virtual F15 simulator. Our works included the Design & Build of an 1100m2 reinforced concrete building, brick clad, with steel trusses and a metal roof. We also extended a car park, carried out all M&E installations, and associated external works. Full force protection measures were included. To help the Boeing fit out, which had a very tight programme for the install which could not be missed, we simulated loadings and requirements. We used temporary generators for testing in advance of the main utility supplies install. We had strict protocols in place for access to the site, meeting the requirements of working within a live RAF base.

At RAF Mildenhall our portfolio of completed works includes:
- An Air Traffic Control Tower
- Air passenger terminal
- Single living accommodation
- Courts
- Commissary
- Library
- Hospital
- Car parking area
- An 8-bay airside fire station
This project provided the Command Centre that interconnects the entire base, providing protection to over 200 buildings. Our works included the design and construction of a 9-storey reinforced concrete tower, with stairs and lift shaft, 18-bay fire station, and reinforced concrete brick clad building, together with approximately 2000m2 surrounding paving quality concrete hard standing. The accommodation provided self-contained sleeping quarters with welfare facilities. There are training rooms, multi-use office space, and secure briefing rooms all with required ICT infrastructure. The control cab was manufactured off-site and lifted into place using a mobile crane. This had been assembled as a mock-up, prior to fabrication, where issues with the gantry connections were highlighted and resolved prior to manufacture and installation.
