Safety First As Farrans Resume Operations
With 70% of projects once again operational, Farrans is continuing to take every possible safety precaution to protect our people against COVID-19.
Our regional office locations are also open and available to facilitate the needs of our people who are unable to work from home.
Farrans has developed detailed plans and rigorous processes in line with government and industry guidance with safety and wellbeing at the forefront of all decision making.
All locations throughout the UK and Ireland are now equipped with non-contact temperature checking stations at the entry point, with individual teams finding innovative ways to assemble and manage these new facilities.
Other new measures include the assembly of dozens of new sanitising stations and welfare facilities, as well as one-way pedestrian systems being demarcated to ensure social distancing.
Detailed inductions for all those returning to our locations have been devised, helping employees adapt to the new procedures.
Identifying Best Practice to Protect People, Partners and Communities
Farrans Deputy Managing Director, Dominic Lavery, commented:
“We are doing everything that we can to support our people in adapting to these new measures – in both a very practical sense on-site but also in terms of mental wellbeing during a highly challenging time.
“Our SHEQ department and Senior Leadership team are in constant communication to appraise how locations are adjusting.
“We all know that these are unprecedented times and because there is no blueprint, we must be incredibly diligent in identifying what best practice looks like within this new COVID-19 landscape.
“Our teams are working hard to apply this knowledge on our locations as we gradually increase activity and personnel.
“We are heartened by positive feedback from our clients and the resourcefulness and pragmatism shown by our own people to date. These things have reflected the core values of who we are as a company.
“At the same time, we are mindful that this an ongoing challenge. To that end, we are committed to doing the best that we can on a daily basis for our people, our supply chain, our clients, stakeholders and local communities”.
