Clients and supply chain come together at Farrans’ return to work Soft Start in Sligo
Farrans has hosted a return to work Soft Start event with our supply chain and client Uisce Eireann in the Clayton Hotel Sligo.
This event provides us with an opportunity to engage with the workforce, celebrate successes, discuss areas for improvement and promote our project direction as we head into the next chapter of 2026.
We welcomed over 250 people to this event all working on the North West region: Uisce Éireann‘s Water and Waste Water Multi-Supplier Framework framework.
The event was opened by our Contract Manager, Brian White, and several important topics were covered including;
Farrans – Working in the Vicinity of Services
We provided the group with an update in relation to working in the vicinity of services, an overview of operating procedure changes and information around using best available equipment such as the gCAT4+ and Genny.
Further practical training was provided for engineers and Location of Underground Services (LUGS) operators by our trainer from Sygma Solutions.
Guest Speaker – Garda Síochána
Our team and our supply chain travel a substantial distance as part of their works, throughout the various counties in which we operate. We are delighted the Garda provided such a powerful and engaging session on road safety, in particular the ‘Life Saver Project’ which highlights changes and behaviours drivers can make.

Guest Speaker – William Sayers
William Sayers spoke at the event, providing his story in relation to a farm accident that happened some years ago and the impact of that on his life. William spoke previously for Farrans at an event and we are delighted he took the time to share his story again today.
William’s story resonates with many in the room, working with plant and equipment every day, in addition to those that come from an agricultural background also.

Guest Speakers – Sligo Cancer Support Centre
Speakers from the Sligo Centre spoke about their experiences of life with cancer, the different types of cancer for male and females, and the signs and symptoms to look out for regarding detection.
