Farrans donates £10,000 to Children’s Heartbeat Trust in memory of Louie Doyle

Farrans has presented Children’s Heartbeat Trust with a donation of £10,000 in memory of Louie Doyle following its Annual Charity Golf Day which was held in August.

The donation will support Children’s Heartbeat Trust in its important work with children and young people in Northern Ireland who are living with heart disease, as well as the parents and families who support them. For families navigating the challenges and uncertainty that can come with a childhood heart condition, the charity provides an invaluable source of practical, financial and emotional support.

There are around 4,000 children and young people living in Northern Ireland with heart conditions. Congenital Heart Disease is the most common birth defect in children born in this country, with an average of 200 babies per year born with one or more heart conditions.

For Kieran Doyle, Senior Quantity Surveyor at Farrans, the donation is particularly meaningful, having experienced first-hand the support provided by Children’s Heartbeat Trust during a tragic time for him and his family.

He said: “It is not until you find yourself in a position where you need services like Children’s Heartbeat Trust that you realise how important they truly are. For my family that time came last year when our baby boy Louie was diagnosed with a serious heart condition which led to many months in hospital. We cannot thank the organisation enough for the work they did with us during our darkest days. I am grateful to my Farrans’ colleagues for wanting to do something impactful to remember Louie in a way which will help other families in similar situations in the future.”
