Gull Wing Bridge in Lowestoft, which Farrans constructed for Suffolk County Council, has been shortlisted for the 2025 Concrete Society Awards.

This iconic infrastructure project has been recognised in one of the industry’s most prestigious awards, celebrating innovation, excellence, and outstanding use of concrete in construction.

The Gull Wing Bridge, is one of the most significant lift bridges in the UK, playing a vital role in transforming connectivity and regeneration for Lowestoft and the wider region.

Shortlisting by the Concrete Society is a testament to the dedication, technical expertise, and collaboration across our teams and partners. From early planning through to complex marine and structural works, the project showcases best-in-class delivery and sustainable construction techniques.

The awards ceremony takes place on 12th November at The Royal Lancaster Hotel, London.
