On site in the 1950s at Seagahan Dam

💫The construction of Seagahan Dam 💫
Thank you to Vincent O’Connor who has very kindly shared with us pictures from when his father was on site at Seagahan Dam in the 1950s working as a dumper driver.
The images were originally all in black and white and have been colourised.
The dam was constructed between Armagh and Markethill to supply water to the city. Now stocked with brown and rainbow trout it is a popular fishing destination and also has a 2.25 mile looped walk around the reservoir.
An excellent reminder of the history, the evolution and the legacy of the construction industry.💛
